(Wahpeton)– No injuries were reported in a house fire this (Saturday) morning in Wahpeton.
The Milford Fire Department was called a little after 8:30 am to 1113 Harpen Street after what was initially reported as an explosion in the basement.
Upon arriving firefighters encountered smoke coming from the residence. They located the fire in a utility room. The fire was quickly extinguished. It was determined the fire originated from a dehumidifier and ignited a pile of laundry nearby. The heat from the fire melted some overhead water lines, which acted as a sprinkler, controlling the spread of the fire.
The occupants were home at the time and got out safely.
The Milford Fire Department was on the scene a little more than an hour.
