(Sibley)– A single vehicle crash earlier this week in Osceola county resulted in minor injuries and citations being issued against the driver.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded shortly before 7:00 pm Tuesday to a report of an unoccupied vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of 180th Street and Pierce Avenue. Upon arriving it was determined 49-year-old Terry Roede of Sibley had been driving a 2007 Ford pickup. Deputies say the vehicle was parked at a stop sign in the intersection and the Roede intentionally accelerated the pickup, causing it to lose traction. The pickup partially went into the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels.
Roede and a passenger, Paul Nasers of Sibley, the vehicle’s owner, sustained minor injuries.
Roede was cited for failure to report an injury accident, no seatbelt, failure to maintain control and careless driving.
Damage to the pickup was estimated at $8,000.
