Pursuit Through Clay & Dickinson Counties Results In Arrest Of Spencer Man

November 27, 2020

(Milford)– A high speed pursuit early Thanksgiving Day that went through portions of Clay and Dickinson counties ended in the arrest of a Spencer man.

Authorities say it began in Clay county where Spencer police and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of a 2019 Toyota Highlander driven by Tony Steece of Spencer. Clay county authorities lost site of the vehicle. A Milford officer observed the vehicle a short time later traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph as it traveled through that community. The pursuit then continued, ending in the 1800 block of Manhattan Boulevard.

Steece was arrested on charges of eluding, speeding, failure to obey a stop sign, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana 1st offense, possession of methamphetamine first offense and possession with intent to deliver.

Authorities say the incident is still under investigation and that additional charges are pending.
