State Of Iowa Sets New Single Day Record For Covid-Related Deaths

(Des Moines)– The state of Iowa today (Wed.) set a very grim record. The Department of Public Health reported 47 Iowans died of virus-related causes in the past 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this morning. That’s the highest single day total of fatalities since the pandemic began. The state’s death toll now stands at 2,271.

The state reported 3,365 new, confirmed cases of COVID-19 this (Wed.) morning with 1,305 hospitalizations. That number is actually down from Tuesday’s 1,351. 269 are in intensive care units with 150 on ventilators.

Dickinson county reported five new cases since Tuesday; Clay county had 20.
