November 23, 2020

(Granville)– A collision Saturday evening in O’Brien county involving a semi and an S-U-V sent two people to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says it involved a 2014 GMC Acadia driven by 41-year-old Michelle Schwarz of Paullina and a 2015 Peterbilt semi driven by 48-year-old Ricky Obbink of Ireton.

Schwarz was taken to the Orange City hospital and was transferred by air to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City with life threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle Schwarz was driving was taken to the Orange City Hospital with possible injuries.

No injuries were reported to Obbink and two passengers in the semi.

The collision took place a little after 8:00 pm Saturday on Highway 10 about a half mile east of McKinley Avenue near Granville.

Troopers say the semi was hauling farm equipment.
