(Primghar)– Multiple citations were issued against a Paullina man after a vehicle he was driving narrowly missed colliding with a school bus Thursday afternoon.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Cody Bucher of Paullina was driving a 1989 Pontiac when he came up on a stopped school bus with flashing red lights and its stop arm extended with a child getting off it. Bucher took evasive action to avoid a collision, causing his vehicle to go into the ditch, missing the school bus by just a few feet.
Bucher was cited for unlawful passing of a school bus…1st offense; failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
Damage to the vehicle driven by Bucher was estimated at $500.
No injuries were reported in the incident which took place around 4:17 pm.
