(Spirit Lake)-A holiday fundraiser for the local Boy Scouts is underway, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Troop 168 of the Boy Scouts is holding their annual holiday greenery fundraiser.
Scoutmaster Gary Zeeman says it’s a long-running tradition with the Scouts. “The Christmas Tree sales have been part of 168 for over 50 years that I’ve been aware of. I’ve been the Scout Leader for 40 years, and we’ve done it all the years that I’ve been here, amd they were doing it before I came. So, it’s been a big part of our fundraising for the Scout Troop. What it does, it helps us with our summer camp expenses, our yearly troop expenses, some of our charter fees and things like that.”
He notes that the sale is being held online this year. “Go to our website, it tells you on our website what to do. This is a no contact re-sale. You put in your order, you pay for it online, and it will be delivered to your door the first week of December.”
The fundraiser runs through November 15.
