(Des Moines)– The daily number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in Iowa have hit yet another record high. The state’s Public Health Department reported 536 Iowans were hospitalized with the virus as of this (Fri.) morning with 134 in intensive care units and 49 on ventilators.
23 additional deaths were reported throughout the state, bringing the death toll to 1,617 so far.
Eight new cases were reported in Dickinson county, with nine in Clay county.
The Spirit Lake Community School District today (Fri.) released updated COVID numbers, showing six active cases among students, with two cases each in the elementary, middle school and high school, and one among the staff. 31 students were in quarantine as of Thursday.
