(Estherville)– A ban on open burning in Emmet county that had been previously in effect has been lifted effective immediately.
Emergency Management Coordinator Travis Sheridan made the announcement today (Wednesday). He says conditions have improved enough adding that the danger has lessened with the harvest nearly complete.
Sheridan encourages anyone planning to do any open burning to use caution and pay attention to conditions and the weather forecast. He says it’s also a good idea to have some water nearby, if possible.
