Dickinson County Relay for Life has launched a new online auction.
Senior Community Development Manager Dana Kauffman says, it’s a way for the group to safely raise funds during the pandemic. “Dickinson County, the Relay for Life, as well as the Pink Ribbon Luncheon, always have a really strong silent auction event so that people can come and big on items. This year with the pandemic, we thought it would be kind of fun if we could still find a way to do that, and there is a platform that some of my Relays have used already this year that just works really well. So we decided to still go around and ask businesses if they would like to donate in some way. So, it’s not through facebook or anything like that, so anybody can actually go on the link and place their bids.”
She notes that most of the auction items are from local and regional businesses. “One of our committee members had travelled to Omaha, she got some unique items that way, otherwise, everything is mostly local.”
