(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting a new record high of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 today (Wed.).
The agency says as of this (Wed.) morning, 534 Iowans were hospitalized with the virus, up from the previous record high of 501 set just yesterday (Tues.)
The agency confirmed there were 646 new cases of COVID-19 in Iowa with 31 additional deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,579.
Locally, Dickinson county is reporting 11 new cases as of 10:00 am this (Wed.) morning, for a total of 695 since the pandemic began. The county’s death toll remains at seven.
Clay county is reporting nine new cases for a total of 495 and four deaths so far.
