(Des Moines)– The number of hospitalizations in Iowa related to COVID-19 hit a new record high today (Tues.). The Iowa Department of Public Health reported that as of this (Tues.) morning, 501 Iowans were in the hospital with the virus. 122 were in ICU units with 45 on ventilators.
In addition, the state was reporting 727 new infections as of 10:00 am, for a total of 108,297 since the pandemic began. The death toll increased by 14 over the past day, for a total of 1,548.
Two new cases were reported in Dickinson county with four new cases in Clay county for the previous 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Tues.) morning.
