(Milford)-Artists are encouraged to apply for a new Artist in Residency Program, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Iowa Lakeside Laboratory and Imagine Iowa Great Lakes have launched a new Public Art & Ecology Artist in Residence (AIR) Program.
Alex Braidwood is the Director of Lakeside’s Artist in Residence Program. “It’s a collaboration between Iowa Lakeside Lab and the Imagine Iowa Great Lakes group to fund a long-term summer residency for an artist who will end up making a project that is a public, community-oriented project for the Great Lakes region.”
He adds that applications are being taken online. “So, they should go to our website which is lakesidelabair.org, and there’s a link from the homepage that gives more information about it and it includes the first phase of the residency. It is a funded residency, so the residency includes an artist stipend, it includes a budget to purchase materials for whatever art project the artist ends up coming up with, and then it also includes room and board at Lakeside Lab, and a full time intern for the duration of the residency to help out with documentation, promotion, networking and connecting to the community.”
The initial application period will be open through November 9.
