October 19, 2020

(Lakefield, Mn.)– A fundraiser will be held next month to benefit a Lakefield businessman suffering a serious illness. Organizer Nichole Kruse says the proceeds from the November 8th event will go to help offset medical expenses for Syd Malchow, who along with his wife Nadine, own the Hi-Lo Club in Lakefield…Malchow Benefit01

“Syd was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August and we decided, our Hi Lo family and our church family, we felt we needed to do a little something for him. Medical costs are high and, you know, traveling for chemo and everything. So we decided to do a grab and go meal our of our church north of Lakefield. It’s going to be a pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, calico beans, a pickle and a cookie. It will be a freewill donation. It’s November 8th from 10:30 to 2:30.”

Kruse explains how you can also help out in the event you can’t attend the November 8th event…Malchow Benefit02

“You can mail a check to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, attention Pastor Dale Hedstrom, P.O. Box 1010 Lakefield, Minnesota 56150 or you can drop off a check at First National Bank in Lakefield, too.”
