(Spencer)-A Family Fall Festival will be held on Sunday outside of Spencer, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
A Family Fall Fun Fest will be held this Sunday to help raise funds to send a group of Spirit lake and Spencer High School Students on their J-Term Trip to Haiti.
Organizer Kathy Norris says the event will be held on the Hassman Acreage outside of Spencer. “They have a nice acreage, maybe 10 acres. They’ll be having carnival games and crafts. They have some little ponies, some small horses, they’re going to do a pony cart ride, they’re going to do kid’s tractor rides. They have an in-ground trampoline, a little playhouse and some carnival games. There will also be some hot dogs and s’mores, and we’re going to sell some meals for $5, hamburgers, chips and a bar or cookie and water for $5.”
She notes that proceeds from the event will go toward the trip. “$5 per entry is the suggested donation because all the proceeds do go to the Haiti J-Term trip.”
The Fun Fest will run from 3-6 on Sunday afternoon. Organizers note that families should dress warmly as the event will be held outdoors.
