Start Of Classes At Okoboji Middle School Being Delayed

August 20, 2020

(Milford)– The start of classes at the Okoboji Middle School is being pushed back.

Construction of the new school was just recently completed and finishing touches such as installation of carpet and furnishings was still taking place in recent days. In a statement, Superintendent Todd Abrahamson announced the delay is based on a need to re-visit return to learn plans for middle school students and staff.

As a result, intake conferences at Okoboji Middle School are now set for Monday, August 31st and Tuesday, September 1st with the first day of school for O-M-S students now set for Wednesday, September 2nd. Times for the conferences will remain the same. Those that need to reschedule should contact the school.

On another note, the Milford Fire Department was called around 2:35 pm this (Thursday) afternoon to the Okoboji High School after getting a report of a fire alarm going off. Officials say it turned out to be a false alarm.
