(Estherville)– Special honors for some students at Iowa Lakes Community College. Five of them have been named recipients of the John P. “Jack” Kibbie Outstanding Service Award. The awards were presented to Trevor Friesner, Lucas Garnder, Calvin Hart, Faith Lutat and Hannah Seil during summer commencement July 24th.
The award honors Senator Jack Kibbie, known as “the father of Iowa community colleges. Senator Kibbie served as an Iowa Lakes Board of Trustee from 1970 to 1988 and was Board President for nine years.
Iowa Lakes faculty and staff nominate students for the award and the college’s Board of Trustees select the recipients.
The award recognizes those students who have performed exemplary service to the community and humanity.
