(Orange City)– Multiple charges have been filed against a Little Rock, Iowa man in connection with a collision that happened late Friday night on Highway 60 a quarter of a mile south of Hospers.
Sioux county authorities say they received multiple reports of a Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven southbound in the northbound lanes. Deputies say he collided with a 2021 Kenworth semi tractor pulling a freight trailer that was traveling northbound. Authorities say the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, 31-year-old Mizael Partida-Hernandez of Little Rock, then left the scene. He was located by deputies a short time later in Hospers.
Partida-Hernandez was arrested and booked into jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving on the wrong side of a highway.
No injuries were reported in the collision.
