(Milford)– We are learning additional details into a stabbing that took place over the weekend in Milford.
Milford police say they were called around 6:30 am Saturday for a man that was being driven to the hospital with a chest injury, and that they had stopped at Boji Junction. Upon arriving police learned 22-year-old Troy Petersen had been involved in an altercation at a residence in Milford and had been stabbed.
Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Darrel Pounds. Pounds was located early Saturday afternoon and was arrested. He was charged with willful injury and theft in the 2nd degree. Pounds was being held in the Dickinson county jail on a $10,000 bond.
Petersen was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare and was transferred by air to a Sioux Falls hospital where he was said to be in critical but stable condition.
The Milford Police Department was assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, the H.E.A.T Tactical Team, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DCI, the Arnolds Park Police Department, Milford Fire and Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.
