(Spirit Lake)– The Test Iowa clinic in Spirit Lake is going to remain through the month of August. However, Jennifer Gustafson of Lakes Regional Healthcare tells KUOO news the hours will be changing somewhat starting next week…
“Starting on Monday it will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm, so really no change there. However on Tuesdays and Thursdays it will be open from 8:00 am until noon. So the hours are going to change slightly starting next week, but we planning on keeping the Test Iowa clinic open through August. That’s our hope, anyway. And then it is also our hope to keep the clinic available through the start of the school year in support of the schools reopening.”
Gustafson says some 3,629 COVID-19 tests have been administered so far as of Friday at the local site…
“We have an average, I would say, of about 136 people that go to the Test Iowa clinic each day. Mondays have been our busiest and in fact since the clinic opened on June 22nd we’ve seen an average of 247 people every Monday, so Mondays are our busiest and we hope the numbers stay up so that it will make it an easier decision to keep the clinic open.”
Gustafson adds the clinic, for now, will remain in front of the Lakes Area Hockey Arena on Sunner Avenue in Spirit Lake, but she says it will be moving to a new location, yet to be determined, when hockey season starts.
