“You know it’s just very humbling to receive that level of support from the foundation because we know that those are contributions from individuals from throughout our community and region who have long supported the Abben Cancer Center. We work very hard. Our physicians, our healthcare team, to provide the latest in technology to serve the region.”

Bumgarner says the new equipment at Abben Cancer Center should be up and running in early August…Bumgarner06

“Basically what the project includes is the linear accelerator which provides the radiation therapy treatments, and we’re also bringing on a new electronic health record that coordinates with that system. It’s approximately a four million dollar project and so our friends and neighbors in the area contributed one million toward that total cost. And with healthcare budgets being tight, that’s a significant support that we very much appreciate.”

Abben Cancer Center has been in operation since 1997.
