(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health has announced continued funding of grants to two northwest Iowa cities through a program it began in 2017, with new funding through the same program to one area community.
Communities in our area receiving a second year of funding at $10,000 include Cherokee and Storm Lake.
The city of Spencer will be receiving funding for the first time in the program. It will be getting $30,000.
The funding is through the Iowa Department of Public Health’s 5-2-1-0 Health Choices Count! Program. The money will assist those communities in creating environments that support healthy choices.
