(Spencer)– A Spencer business has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority after winning a statewide virtual pitch contest Tuesday.
Pressed, a boutique in downtown Spencer, was among five businesses from Main Street Iowa communities that competed in the Open 4 Business contest. It began in May with 19 applicants.
Pressed owners Kristen and Eric Meeter plan to use the $20,000 to update their website platform and purchase equipment for a rentable photo, video and audio recording studio above their store to assist small businesses in telling their digital story with high-quality images.
