July 20, 2020

(Storm Lake)-The Storm Lake Police Department made an arrest after being called to the Casey’s store at 825 Flindt Drive at 4 pm on Saturday for a customer causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police located the suspect on Casey’s property, identified as 41-year-old Daniel Joy of Waco, Texas. Police allege that Joy was belligerent with Casey’s staff and other customers and refused to leave when asked. Joy was taken into custody on scene by Storm Lake Police and transported to the Buena Vista County Jail.

Police allege that during the booking process Joy threatened to kill an officer and became physically resistant, resulting in bodily injury to an officer. Joy was ultimately subdued and charged with Trespassing, Disorderly Conduct, and Interference with Official Acts, all simple misdemeanors.  Joy is also charged with 1st Degree Harassment and Assault on Peace Officer causing bodily injury, both aggravated misdemeanors.

Joy was jailed on a 49-hundred dollar bond.
