(Undated)– Severe thunderstorms early to mid afternoon today (Saturday) brought very large hail with them as they moved through portions of the region.
Hail the size of tennis balls was reported about eight miles southwest of Lakefield. There were numerous reports of hail ranging in size from nickles, quarters to golf ball-size north of Lake Park in the Sioux Valley and Round Lake areas.
In Ruthven, the ground was covered in hail stones ranging from the size of quarters to nearly golf balls. There were numerous reports of damage to roofs and siding in Ruthven and damage to vehicles.
