“I don’t think as a taxpayer in this community that I need to be subjected to this. Really I’m always wondering, looking out to make sure before I walk outside of my home to make sure no one else is coming so I can walk my dog.”

Councilman Mitch Watters agreed it’s something the city should look into…AP Council04

“This is something we need to circle back around next month. Look at what some possible ordinances are, what some other feelings are. Even if we would pass an ordinance I really think we need to go through the three readings of it to just give everybody a chance.”

A proposed ordinance will come before the council for a public hearing at their August 12th meeting.

The Arnolds Park City Council also Wednesday gave the official go-ahead to proceed with the construction of a pickleball court at Sawmill Park. They took the action after declining an offer to instead build the courts adjacent to some that were recently constructed at Speier Park in Okoboji.
