(Spencer)– Most area school districts remain in a holding pattern when it comes to a decision as to whether or not students will return to the classroom next month.
The Spencer Community School District issued a statement this (Wed.) afternoon saying it, like most others in the region, is holding off on a final decision so that “we can utilize the most current guidance”. The statement goes on to say “We are waiting until then in order to make sure we are evaluating the conditions with the most current information and can accurately gauge what will be best for our students, family and staff.”
Officials with the Spencer Community School District say a decision on how schools will reopen will be made late this month or early August. In the meantime they are encouraging families to register as normal even before the decision is made.
The statement goes on to say “Spencer Schools plans to serve every student and family in a way that is safe and accommodating to the family’s safety and needs regardless of which option we choose.”
