(Estherville)– An Estherville woman has been accused of striking a man in the head multiple times with two different blunt objects, seriously injuring the victim.
Estherville police say they were called around 6:15 am Sunday after getting a report of a man who was found unresponsive in a shed at a back yard of a residence at 315 South 8th Street in Estherville. Officers found the man lying on the ground. He was described as being cold to the touch and had several injuries. The victim, who’s name has not been released, was taken to Avera Holy Family Hospital and was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital.
As part of their investigation, police obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence at 315 South 8th Street. Interviews were also conducted with witnesses. Police were able to identify the suspect in the case as Julissa Ramirez of Estherville. A second search warrant was then obtained and executed on the same residence. Ramirez was then taken into custody and was booked into the Emmet county jail on charges of willful injury and obstruction of prosecution or defense for attempting to conceal evidence of the crime. Bond was set at $200,000 cash or surety.
