(Arnolds Park)– It was announced today (Tues.) this year’s “Lake Affect” concert in Little Miller’s Bay on West Lake Okoboji is being canceled due to COVID-19.
In a social media post, the event’s founder and organizer, Damon Dotson, made the announcement saying “We tried to hold onto hope and hold out as long as we could. However, at this time, I feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved to forgo this year’s event and look forward to next year.”
Dotson also expressed his sympathies to those directly impacted by the virus and thanked those on the front lines.
He also thanked sponsors of Lake Affect and the thousands of people who have attended the event in recent years. Dotson concluded by saying the event WILL be back.
