Clay County Authorities Recover Stolen Pickup

May 26, 2020

(Spencer)– Authorities in Clay county say they have recovered a pickup that was reported stolen Sunday from a residence on Highway 18 west of Ruthven.

Authorities say the 2018 Ford F350 owned by Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative was tracked to a gravel pit near Graettinger and that an attempt had been made to drive it into some water. The vehicle, however, wound up getting stuck before it got to the water. No one was around the vehicle when a deputy arrived on the scene.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the pickup has been returned to its owner and that the case is under investigation. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at (712) 262-3221.
