(Milford)– A Milford man was seriously injured last (Wed.) evening after being struck by a vehicle in the area of 19th Street and Highway 71 on the north side of Milford.
The Iowa State Patrol says 27-year-old Nicholas Mortenson of Milford for some reason had walked out onto the roadway where he was struck by a southbound 2015 Honda CRV.
Mortenson was seriously injured and was transported by air to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The driver of the vehicle, 67-year-old Jerald Harbst of Spirit Lake, wasn’t injured.
The mishap took place shortly before 9:00 pm.
The Milford Police Department, Milford Fire and Rescue, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance assisted on the scene.
