Coordinator Of Iowa Great Lakes Watershed/Dickinson County Cleanwater Alliance Receives Special Recognition

April 22, 2020

(Spirit Lake)– The Coordinator of the Iowa Great Lakes Watershed who also represents the area in the Iowa Legislature has received some special recognition. John Wills is a recipient of this year’s Circle of Excellence Award from the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance…Wills Honored

“It goes to show the people here in the Iowa Great Lakes and Silver Lake how they’re working together and coming together and doing good things for the lake because I kind of look at myself as just being somebody who helps folks, it’s really the people who are doing the work and so I’m just there to kind of be the mediator so to speak, and so the award I wouldn’t say is an award that goes to the Iowa Great Lakes and the people of the Iowa Great Lakes who actually do the work versus to me.”

Wills was recognized for facilitating work on various water quality improvement projects in his role as Dickinson County Cleanwater Alliance Coordinator. He has served in that capacity since 1993. He also recently helped form the Little Sioux Headwaters Coalition.
