(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health today (Saturday) is reporting an additional 181 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases so far in the state to 2,513. To date, there have been 20,434 negative tests. Of the new cases reported today (Saturday) there was one each locally in Clay and Osceola counties.
The agency also reported 10 more deaths today (Saturday). Those were reported in Appanoose, Louisa, Muscatine and Tama counties, each with one death. Three deaths were reported in Linn county and three in Polk county. There have been a total of 84 fatalities so far in Iowa that have been directly attributed to the virus.
193 people are currently hospitalized in Iowa with COVID-19.
1,095 Iowans have recovered from the virus.
