O’Brien County Authorities Investigating A Hit-And-Run That Resulted In A Power Outage

April 15, 2020

(Primghar)– Authorities in O’Brien county are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left some people in the dark earlier this week.

The Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 4:00 pm Monday when a vehicle slid off the road and collided with a utility pole in the area of County Road L-26 or McKinely Avenue and B-40, or 400th Street. The vehicle was driven out of the ditch and left the scene.

Authorities say the impact caused a support on the pole to break, resulting in a power outage.

Damage to the pole, owned by Mid American Energy, was estimated at $1,500.
