(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health today (Sunday) is reporting 77 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, along with seven more deaths. Six of those were in Linn county with one in Washington county.
Of the new cases being reported today (Sunday), a couple of those were in northwest Iowa. One was reported in Lyon county and one was in Osceola county.
While the number of new cases reported today (Sunday) is down, officials with the Iowa Department of Public Health point out the results do not reflect a complete 24-hour cycle of testing, as the agency is transitioning to new reporting timeframes.
Today’s (Sunday’s) statistics brings the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 to date in Iowa to 1,587. The department says there were 383 negative tests reported in the latest numbers, for a total of 16,005 negative tests to date. That includes reporting by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.
