(West Des Moines)– Hy-Vee today (Fri.) announced additional protective measures being taken in its stores as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The grocery chain says it will be installing additional temporary window panels on the back side of checkouts in coming days. They say the panels will be in addition to those already in place on the front side of checkouts.
And beginning Monday, April 6th, customers will be strongly encouraged to follow a “one person per cart” rule to avoid multiple family members from accompanying a customer on shopping visits. Hy-Vee is asking customers designate one person per family to shop and to avoid shopping in large groups.
Hy-Vee says they will also be placing one-way directional signage in aisles at all stores this weekend. They say it will prevent customers from passing each other in order to maintain six feet of social distancing throughout the store.
