Dickinson County Recycling Center to remain open with Winter Hours for now

The Dickinson County Recycling Center in Milford is remaining open at this time.

Manager Charles Vigdal says the Center will continue their winter hours for now.  “We have temporary hours.  We’re supposed to switch over to our summer hours but we’re gonna stick with our winter hours to get us through this period that we have right now.  So, we’re gonna be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.  We’re still accepting everything that we usually do, so green waste, household hazardous waste, electronics, tires and appliances.”

He notes that residents should call ahead.  “It’s always good to call ahead because we are short staffed here. I’ve been getting a lot of calls about compost and mulch, and I’m the only one down here currently so, I’m gonna be running around and it’s always good to give a heads up if you have a lot of materials or what not.  If you ever want to call us or have questions, too, our number is 712-338-2549.  We’re just trying to protect ourselves down here too, so just taking it slow.”
