(Spencer)– The Iowa Department of Public Health confirmed this (Tues.) morning a Clay county resident has tested positive for COVID-19.
The agency says the individual is an adult female between 18 and 40 years of age and is recovering at home in isolation.
Public health officials are once again HIGHLY urging that any citizens who are symptomatic follow CDC guidelines for self-isolation, especially because testing for COVID-19 is still limited.
They add about 80 percent of those infected with COVID-19 will experience only mild to moderate illness. They say most those individuals who are mildly ill do not need to go to their healthcare provider or be tested to confirm they have the virus. They must, however, stay home and isolate themselves until they no longer have a fever for atleast 72 hours without the use of medicine; other symptoms have improved, and atleast seven days have passed since your symptoms first appeared.
