Spencer Police Make Arrest In Bogus Money Case

February 29, 2020

(Spencer)– Spencer police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with some bogus money that had been making the rounds recently in that community.

40-year-old Jeremy Gayle has been charged with five counts of forgery…all of them class “D” felonies. He was being held in the Clay county jail on a $50,000 bond.

The arrest follows an investigation into fake twenty dollar bills that had been received at several businesses with the words “Prop Copy” stamped on them.
