(Spirit Lake)– A Worthington, Minnesota man wanted on a warrant for some burglaries and thefts in Dickinson county was taken into custody Thursday.
Jason Meyer was wanted on charges of theft in the 2nd degree, burglary in the 3rd degree, theft in the 2nd degree, theft in the 5th degree and attempted burglary in the 3rd degree.
The charges were filed in connection incidents in September, 2019 at Cohrs Construction west of Spirit Lake and Milford Electric in Milford.
Meyer was accused of stealing tools, drop cords, a radio, and some LED bulbs from Milford Electric in an incident alleged to have taken place between 5:00 pm September 17th and 7:30 am September 18th, 2019.
Meyer was also accused of stealing a .22 caliber rifle and several cans of beer in the early morning of September 18th, 2019, from Cohrs Construction, along with a safe, a handgun and about $5,000 in cash from the same business in the early morning hours of September 20th, 2019.
Bond on the theft and burglary charges was set at $15,000 cash or surety; bond on the theft in the 2nd degree and attempted burglary in the 3rd degree charges was set at $5,000 cash or surety, with a preliminary hearing set for March 9th in Dickinson County District Court. Meyer has pled not guilty on the theft in the 5th degree charges with a trial set for December 20th of this year.
Meyer remains held in the Dickinson county jail.
