(Jackson, Mn.)– Fire has destroyed a garage and an adjoining house in Jackson.
The Jackson Fire Department was called around 11:46 pm Monday to 52 River Street to what was initially reported as a garage fire. The fire quickly spread to the house. The Alpha Fire Department also responded to the scene after mutual aid was requested.
A dog that was in the garage perished in the fire.
Firefighters were on the scene about five and-a-half hours. They were called back to the address late this (Tues.) morning when the fire re-kindled.
The Red Cross is providing assistance to those who were living at the residence.
There’s been no word as to a possible cause.
