(Spirit Lake)– The annual audit report of the Spirit Lake Community Schools has been issued for the fiscal year that ended June 30th, 2019. It shows revenues of nearly $17.5 million…a 5.7 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses totaled nearly $16.9 million…a 5.3 percent increase from the prior year.
The report says the revenue increases are due primarily to an increase in property tax, unrestricted state grants and insurance claim revenue while an increase in salaries and benefits was the main factor in expenses.
