(Spencer)– The Clay County ISU Extension and Outreach office is reminding residents of some programs coming up later this month. Sara Diercks says one of those is a series for those 60 and over in the region helping them remain independent…
“On Monday, January 6th it’s Stop, Spot and Avoid Fraud, and on Tuesday, January 21st we are Stretching Our Dollars. Both sessions are from 10:00 until 11:00 am. These programs are designed to offer information and tips to help those ages 60 and up to remain financially healthy and safe. There is no cost or pre-registration for these programs.”
The programs will be offered at the Spencer Area Activity Center.
In addition, Diercks says the Crop Advantage series for farmers will be offered January 7th at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and January 14th at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Okoboji…
“Online pre-registration is encouraged but you can also register at the door starting at 9:30. The cost for these programs is $50 if you pre-register or $60 at the door. And private pesticide license renewal training is also included on those dates if you need it.”
And Diercks says Annie’s Project will be offered beginning January 23rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford…
“This is a six session course and it is designed to empower women to make decisions for their farm or agribusiness. Online pre-registration is required by January 16th. The cost for this program is $75 which includes meals and materials for all six classes.”
More information and pre-registration is available by contacting the Clay County Extension and Outreach Office in Spencer.
