(Okoboji)– As we reported late last week, the 92nd annual Okoboji Bible Conference gets underway Saturday at the tabernacle grounds in Arnolds Park and runs through next week.
This year’s conference will once again feature a couple of very special events. Conference Director Pastor Mark Schwarz says one of those the Global Friends group based out of Omaha. It will take place one week from tonight, Monday, August 3rd…
“What they do is they minister and they build friendships with some of the J-1 students that are here from all over the world. And on Monday night there will be a gathering of not just the young people from around the world, but also the young adults from our community here. Last year we had about 250 people at this event. What we do that night is we give away, it’s called Nations and Nutty Bars. And so we’ll have the nations there and there will be a meal for them at 9:00. A lot of these kids work until 8:30, 9:00, but we’ll provide a meal for them and then also a free nutty bar, and they’ll be saying good bye to the Global Friends because at the end of that week they’ll be heading back to Omaha, back to their lives and so forth.”
Another special event will take place Tuesday, August 4th and is for pastors from throughout the region…
“We have two amazing speakers that will speak to subjects that pastors and leaders would be interested in, and then we provide a beautiful catered meal that’s going to be amazing, and then we also give them quite a few gifts. They’ll be walking away with quite a few gift cards. Each pastor or leader that comes will walk away with some gifts, but they have to register on okobojiconference.org.”
Again, the Okoboji Bible Conference kicks off this Saturday and runs through August 7th.
