(Estherville)– An Estherville man faces charges after being arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting a hole in a window at an apartment complex.
Estherville police say there were called around 9:00 am to 515 North 13th Street apartment 12 after getting a report that someone had shot a hole through a window of the apartment. Officers arrived on the scene and found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the window on the south side of the apartment. Police secured the scene and started to evacuate other residents in the complex as a precaution.
Officers then made contact with a resident in the apartment. 54-year-old Darron Pearson of Estherville was arrested and charged with reckless use of a firearm and discharging a weapon within city limits. Officers also found a loaded 9 millimeter handgun in the apartment.
Pearson was booked into the Emmet county jail and made an initial appearance before a judge. He was later released after posting a $2,000 bond.
