(Spirit Lake)-The 2022 Strong Kids fundraising campaign is underway at the YMCA of the Okobojis.
Cindy Rose, Senior Director of Development and Engagement says, the goal this year is $160,000.
“We raise money for scholarships for financial assistance, for kids to attend Camp Foster, and actually this year, we’ve been in existence for 110 years at Camp Foster, so that’s pretty exciting. We also raise dollars for scholarships for membership, for programs, swim lessons, Y Kids, childcare, our reading buddies program, Special Olympics and then our Safety around Water program, as well. Those are just a few things that we raise money for.”
Rosa says they’ll also be holding a couple of fundrsiing events for the campaign, including one slated for April 22nd at the Roof Garden Ballroom.
“We’ve got Boon & Lambert there playing some music. We’ll have an auctioneer, we’ll have some live auction items, silent auction items. It should be just a good time, a fun time, and then, we are bringing back the golf again, as well, out at Emerald Hills Golf Course, June 3rd. That’s always a fun time. It’s a 4 person 8 inch cup, so that adds a little bit of a challenge to it as well, so both of those events raise dollars for our financial assistance, our annual campaign, as well.”
