(Storm Lake)– A young girl has been charged after the Storm Lake Police Department was notified February 11th of a belated report of sexual assault to a male victim at a Storm Lake residence. Upon investigating, police determined that on or about January 21st, a 12-year-old girl sexually assaulted a boy under the age of 14, at a residence in the 11-hundred block of Ontario Street in Storm Lake. On Thursday of this week, Storm Lake Police obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence and located corroborating evidence. The 12-year-old girl was taken into custody without incident. She was ultimately referred to Buena Vista County Juvenile Court Services on a charge of 2nd Degree Sexual Abuse, a class B felony, and was transported to the Cherokee Youth Emergency Services Center.
