(Okoboji)– The Okoboji City Council Tuesday evening heard plans for a proposed parking lot and playground area at 1110 Lakeshore Drive, near O’Farrell Sisters and the former Okoboji Boat Works.
City Administrator Michael Meyers says the developer/owner of those properties is gauging the council’s interest in something like that…
“The developer who is working on OBW and the subdivision of that process is looking at the traffic and congestion on Lakeshore Drive and has come up with an idea to present a parking lot at that 1110 Lakeshore Drive address. I think there’s a lot of sensitive toward the situation down there and just trying to see if there’s something that can be a compromise to make something work down there. So what was presented essentially was a parking lot with a small playground associated with it. The council just wants to kind of slowly talk to the neighbors, talk to the community, to see if this is something of interest.”
Meyers says it will be back on the agenda for the council’s regular meeting in March.
