Most Iowa County Auditor Offices To Be Open Saturday (Oct. 31st) For In Person Early Voting

October 30, 2026

(Spirit Lake)– You’ll have an additional opportunity to vote early in person for next week’s election. Jordan Moyer of the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office says they’ll be open tomorrow (Saturday)…

“Voting has been going on down in the Board of Supervisors Room but just for Saturday we are going to be having the voting in our office, in the Auditor’s Office, just with only a couple of us there. So we are open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can go in that west entrance in the courthouse and come in.”

Monday, November 2nd, will be the final day for in-person early voting.

Moyer also has an important reminder for anyone planning to register to vote at the polls. It pertains to a change in the law regarding attesters…

“An attester is somebody that if the voter does not have a driver’s license, you can have somebody attest for you that is in the same precinct. You can only have one attester per person all day. So the change with that is that you can no longer attest for a pre-registered voter; you can only attest for a newly registered voter.”

She says those who show up without a driver’s license or valid I.D will need to vote what’s known as a provisional ballot…

“If you don’t have a driver’s license and you go through the line and it’s going to say that you want to cast a provisional ballot and that would be where it gets put in an envelope instead of the machine. Then you have to come to our office to verify who you are. Otherwise we just recommend you go back and get your driver’s license.”

We’ll pass along some other reminders for election day itself Tuesday, November 3rd, in our newscasts on Monday.
