(Luverne, MN) — Declining birth rates in rural Minnesota are being blamed for the end of labor and delivery services at a Luverne hospital.
Sanford Health announced Thursday that the inpatient birthing center at its hospital will close in May, forcing pregnant patients to use delivery rooms 30 miles away.
Luverne Hospital will continue to provide pre-natal and postpartum services.
